Challenge Niruben, aged 30 is unmarried and lives with her mother (aged 45 years), her father passed away. She has 2 siblings ages 14 and 16 years. She has polio since birth and has lost use of both her legs. She moves around by crawling on the floor with her hands and her knees. Her mother sells the fish for a small profit that Niruben gets from a local wholesale market. This market is a about 2 miles away. The only option for Niruben is to use public transportation which costs a lot of money. It still leaves her with the challenge of carrying the merchandise around.
Solution With the help of a Hand driven tricycle donated by Arpan Patel, Niruben, will be able to go to the wholesale market and back with no cost. It will also give her a better means of carrying the large wooden baskets with ice and fish in them.
